The 8th annual creative design festival, BKKDW2025 wrapped up with significant impact. Held from 8 - 23 February 2025 by the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, or Thailand, in partnership with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and a wide network of collaborators, the festival, themed “Design Up+Rising: Facing Challenges with a Positive Twist” empowered city advancement through design. Over 16 days, it attracted over 618,411 visitors and injected over 1,956.8 million baht into Bangkok’s economy.
As one of the four creative festivals organized by the CEA, Bangkok Design Week is held consecutively each year. It serves as a platform to drive urban development, enhance the quality of life for people and society, and support the growth of the creative economy at the district level. It also contributes to positioning Bangkok as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) under the Design category (UCCN - Bangkok City of Design), a designation it received in 2019.
Let’s Rise Up for an Up+Rising in Design!
BKKDW2025 was organized under the theme “Design Up+Rising: Facing Challenges with a Positive Twist”, with a focus on 5 dimensions of positive design possibilities: Optimism: Designing with Positive Mindset; Cross-disciplinarity: Designing by Connecting Other Disciplines; Positive Force: Designing to Face Every Challenge; Disruption: Designing Beyond Conventions; and Power of Design: Designing with Purpose.
