First monthly virtual program of a year-long series intended to cover different topics relevant to design festival organizers.
Join emerging design week festival organizers and fellow WDW members from Nairobi, San Diego, Anchorage, and beyond to connect and learn about the makeup of peer design week organizations, discuss various approaches to building budgets, and share ambitions and strategies for securing funding to support events.
A brief introduction and short presentation by host World Design Week members will lead to a group conversation by participants in an effort to share, learn, and build relationships that strengthen local festivals and provide opportunities to link and collaborate with peer cities.
This virtual program will be the first of a year-long series to cover different topics relevant to design festival organizers each month. Event times will alternate time zones in hopes that global community partners can participate and share their experiences and ambitions with balanced sleep schedules. The presentation and discussion are anticipated to last 1 hour, with a maximum of 1.5 hours available if participants wish to extend the debate.
This event is open to World Design Week members and prospective members who wish to learn more about the organization.
The first session will be about Organization Finance and Event Funding Strategies, on Tuesday February 7th at 14:00 GMT.
