Anchorage Design Week 2023 will welcome participants through two seasonal sessions.  The first will take place in February ’23 as a winter session, serving as a cold-weather community moment that connects visiting university studios with local designers and guests from around the world to experience winter landscapes and ideas, coinciding with the Fur Rondezvous Festival and Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Dress warm for outdoor interventions and join an Anchorage Design Week symposium highlighting the ecologies, cultures, and economics along the Alaska Long Trail, hosted in partnership by the Anchorage Museum, Alaska Trails, and the University of Texas Arlington School of Architecture. In-person and virtual events will connect Southcentral neighbors with friends across the globe.   Following the Winter Session, Anchorage Design Week will also be host to a Summer Session that includes the ’23 Creative Retreat + Design Camp, an analog and hands-on camp experience that invites multidisciplinary participants to refresh and enjoy Alaska in the way that Alaskan’s and Northerners can appreciate most – as puny humans embedded in the majestic landscape.    Anchorage Design Week takes place on the unceded homelands of the Eklutna Dena’ina people who have adapted for millennia and continue to thrive in the North. The community events for Design Week are organized by the Anchorage Museum with community partners Alaska Design Forum and AIGA Alaska. Anchorage Design Week is a member of World Design Weeks and #unitedbydesign.
