Chiang Mai Design Week 2023 was held for the 9th time on 2 - 10 December 2023 under the concept of TRANSFORMING LOCAL: Adapt / Enhance / Local / Grow.
Over the course of the festival, which spans nine days, 744 designers, craftsmen, artists, musicians, and other creators from all over the northern region have come together to organize 233 fascinating programs that have fueled Chiang Mai's creative economy.
Chiang Mai Design Week 2023 serves as a catalyst for the creative economy while also enhancing the quality of living for those residing in the northern area and positioning Chiang Mai as a city "desirable to live in, worth investing in, and worth visiting," including driving Chiang Mai province as a UNESCO Creative City for Crafts and Folk Art to continue growing into a creative city on the world stage
As a result, the festival is estimated to have drawn 181,553 visitors and produced an economic value for the northern region of over 294 million baht.
